1The short version
This site sets cookies that keep you signed in and keep sign-in secure. It sets no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies and no third party trackers.
That is why you are not asked to dismiss a consent banner before reading anything. Under United Kingdom and European rules, consent is required for cookies that are not strictly necessary. We do not set any of those, so there is nothing to ask you about.
2What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file a site asks your browser to keep and send back on later requests. It is what allows a site to recognise that two requests came from the same person, which is how a signed-in session works at all.
Local storage serves a similar purpose but is read by script in the page rather than sent with every request. Where we use it, it is covered in section 4.

All of these are first party, meaning they are set by this site rather than by an outside company, and all are marked secure so they travel only over HTTPS.
4Local storage
Where the application remembers a small interface preference, it is held in your browser's local storage. That data stays on your device, is not sent to us, and is cleared when you clear site data.
5What we do not set
Stated plainly, because the absence is the point.
- No analytics or product measurement cookies, from any provider.
- No advertising or retargeting pixels.
- No social media embeds, which set cookies on the pages that carry them.
- No session recording or heat mapping.
- No cross-site identifiers, and no data brokered to anyone.
If this changes, this page is updated before the change ships, and anything not strictly necessary is put behind a genuine choice rather than a banner whose only real option is to accept.
6Controlling cookies
Every major browser lets you view, block and delete cookies from its settings. Because the cookies here are the ones that hold your session, blocking them means the site cannot keep you signed in and the application will not work.
The anonymous demo on the home page works without signing in, so it works with cookies blocked.
